This carnival also take place in Viareggio and Cento where they carnival is one of the biggest and most elaborate festivals across the country, the Tuscany seaside town of Viareggio is famous for its carnival parades featuring huge paper mache' floats.. Events and entertainment conducted during nights of festival and people wearing traditional costumes walk everywhere in the city.

The festival held annually and begins 40 days before Easter, on Shrove Tuesday so the exact date varies.
