Oktoberfest Festival - Germany

Sept. 21 to Oct. 6

Oktoberfest, festival of celebrating beer is a 16 day festival held in Munich, Bavaria, Germany every year. It starts from late September to first weekend of October and is one of the most famous festivals in Germany and also known as largest fair in the world.

More than 6 million people from all over the globe attend the festival every year. This tradition has over 200 years of history since 1810, and considered as a traditional and important cultural event in Germany.
This festival begins with A 12 gun salute and the tapping of first Oktoberfest beer by Munich’s Mayer and then Minister of Bavaria.

Visitors wear the Oktoberfest Bavarian hats (Tirolerhüte), which contain a tuft of goat hair. In Germany, goat hair is highly valued and prized, making it one of the most expensive objects for sale. The more tufts of goat hair on your hat, the wealthier you are considered to be. But today and thanks to technology and Chinese, the cheap goat hair can be found and used.

Oktoberfest is a place for food lovers also, during this mostly all beer drinking festival there are lots of foods and other programs and parties held in order to provide an amazing experience for visitors and tourists
